By now you've probably seen the forecast for this Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. While it doesn't look good at the moment, we are watching the forecast closely in hopes that the rain will move out either before or after Saturday.

We are in close contact with the trail manager and others and will be meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 11, to make a decision on race day activities. We will notify all registered runners by no later than Thursday evening, Oct. 12, or early Friday morning, Oct. 13, of any changes to our schedule.

***To be sure you get a T-Shirt you must Register before 9/15/2023. If you register after 9/14/2023 11:59PM you may not have an option to choose a FREE shirt. 

***Race Medals must be ordered ahead of time. Those who register after 8/25/2023 may not get a medal due to limited supplies.

1) Simply sign up for an in person race, show up at race, check in and race in our 5th Annual River's Edge Endurance Challenge!

We have a 5 mile race, a 3-hour challenge, and a 6-hour challenge.

You can practice half of the course now at the River's Edge Trail System. We have River's Edge Endurance Challenge (REEC) signs with arrows showing the course direction ONLY on the River's Edge Trail System..

TIME:
-Early packet pick up will be at Smoketown Brewing Station on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, from 6 PM - 7:30 PM. First pint of beer is only $4 for REEC racers!
-In person Race Sign in for all races is 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
-Random drawings for free gifts is 8:45 AM.
-ALL RACES STARTS AT 9:00 AM

LOCATION:
In Person, the lower practice fields in between Brunswick High School and Brunswick Middle School.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
We have a 2.5 mile trail section that is completely marked with signage within the River's Edge Trails that we've then extended onto the Brunswick High School's property to get a total of a 5 mile loop for race day.

ENTRANCE FEE:
5 MILE Run - $30 
3-HOUR Run - $45 
6-HOUR Run - $55 

100% of the race fees is used to purchase shirts, medals, race support items like food, and the rest supports Brunswick High School Track in purchasing much needed new equipment.

All of those who pre-registered in time will receive a T-Shirt, unique REEC Finisher medal and other giveaways on race day.

PRIZES: Gift Cards will be awarded via random drawing--two gift certificates per race! 

The River's Edge Endurance Challenge is sponsored by the Brunswick High School Athletic Boosters, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and as such serves as a fundraiser for the Brunswick High School Track and Field program. All Monies raised by this event will be dedicated to the purchase of much needed equipment which is not otherwise funded by Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). All donations and registration fees are fully tax deductible.
