COMPETITIVE TEAMS WILL CONSIST OF 4 INDIVIDUALS. NONCOMPETITIVE (MUNICIPAL) TEAMS WILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 TEAMMEMBERS AND NO MORE THAN 6 TEAMMEMBERS. TEAM CAPTAINS WILL REGISTER FOR THE TEAM, THEN THE TEAM CAPTAIN WILL FILL IN THE ADDITIONAL TEAMMEMBERS. TIME SLOT SELECTIONS WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON ORDER OF REGISTRATION FOR EACH CATEGORY, AND WILL BE COORDINATED ONCE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

Thank you for your interest in the 2023 Montana Warrior Challenge being held Saturday June 24th in Helena.  This event is unlike any other in Montana with the testing of personal and team communication, physical, mental, and leadership skills.  The team aspect allows for developing camaraderie between all participants and reflects some of the activities that the smallest units of military organizations participate in.  It is encouraged that teams are built with peers; however, in the event an individual does not have a team, Impact Montana will work with individual registered participants to get them on a team that will allow them to participate. 

The event itself will consist of a mock military-style training environment with different types of obstacles.  Along with the obstacles, there will be navigation and distance between stations.  Part of the intrigue with this event is that the Team Captain will receive all event instruction (operation order) leading up to the event.  It is up to the Team Captain to help prepare the rest of the team for success with adequate communication. 

The start times will be staggered for teams, with teams getting their “operation order “  prior to their specific start time.  It will then be the teams’ objective to discuss the course map and information in the operation order to determine their course of action within the limitations of the event.  

The Montana Warrior Challenge is meant to be a fun and team building event.  It is not required for anyone to have military experience as there will not be anything too difficult to accomplish for those without military experience.  It is highly advisable that all participants are in proper conditioning to be able to navigate the course.  Although the intent of this event is to compete as a team, teams assisting other teams is not discouraged. This event is the flagship event for the Montana Warrior Run Circuit and Impact Montana.

We have two categories- Competitive and Non-competitive with each team consisting of 4 individuals (male or female). The winner of the Competitive category will be awarded the Impact Montana Guidon. The Non-competitive category is for teams looking to build cohesion and have some fun while supporting a great cause.  The course will be slightly shorter for the Non-competitive teams, but both courses will offer challenges which will build and encourage teamwork.
