About This Event
Our Mission The Calhoun County Cancer Control Coalition (5C) is a group of individuals and organizations working together to reduce the cancer burden in Calhoun County through community collaboration. Join us in our efforts to spread the word about getting screened for colorectal cancer.Calhoun County Cancer Control Coalition (5C) Community Project Fund is a community project fund of the Battle Creek Community Foundation.
Did You Know…
• Anyone can get colorectal cancer.
• Colorectal cancer screening is recommended for everyone at age 50. (Those who have a family history of colorectal cancer should ask their doctor about getting screened earlier than age 50.)
• Colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer don't always cause symptoms, especially at first. Someone could have polyps or colorectal cancer and not know it. That is why getting screened regularly for colorectal cancer is so important.
• Screening for colorectal cancer helps prevent this disease. Screening can find precancerous polyps (abnormal growths), so they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening also finds colorectal cancer early, when treatment works best.
Race Information- Race Fees: $30 if registered before August 31st (11:59 pm) after that registration is $35 (non-refundable)
- Race Fees: $35 if registered between September 1st and September 10th.

- 5K Run/Walk on the Linear Park Path
Event Times
Race Day:
- 7:00 am Packet pick-up
- 9:00 am 5K Run/Walk Starts
Social Distancing Procedures
- To promote social distancing - we will institute "Rolling Start" concept. People will start in groups of 3 people every 15 seconds to prevent crowding.
- Refreshments will be placed in separate bags for each participant
- The use of masks will be encouraged before and after the race
Awards
- All participants finishing the race will receive a finisher's medal
- 1st Place overall male and female only.
- No Age Class awards for 2022
Tee Shirts
T-shirts are guaranteed to everyone that registers by September 2nd. No-shows will not receive a T-shirt and will be distributed to race day registrants following the race on a first come-first served basis. Day of race, packet pick-up starts at 7:00am and will end promptly at 8:45am. (This is necessary for an on-time start.).
