    LOCATION: Ridge Ferry Park

    • Start and Finish Location: Ridge Ferry Park on gravel trail in front of the Coca-Cola stage. 

    START TIMES:

    • 3:45 p.m. -- Race Day Registration
    • 5:00 p.m. -- 5K Start
    • 5:15 p.m. --  Paper Doll Parade Health Walk
    • 6:00 p.m. -- Awards Ceremony for 5K

    COURSE CERTIFICATION: The 5K course is a USATF-certified course, thus allowing your time to serve as a Peachtree Road Race qualifying time.

    REGISTRATION COST:  5K cost is $26 and the walk is $21.  A portion of race funds goes to help support mammography scholarships. Registration closes on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 11:00pm. Late registration, in-person only is $36 for the 5K and $26 for the walk.  NOTE: After Sept. 24, late registration can only be done in-person at 1 Shorter Avenue or on race day at Ridge Ferry Park the evening of the race itself.

    Race day registration is $40 for the 5K and $30 for the walk.

    COSTUME CONTEST: We will have a pre-race costume contest and encourage all runners, walkers, spectators and more to help celebrate the event by wearing pink or dressing up.

    *GROUP REGISTRATION: We offer a discount for groups of 20 or more, who register for the walk or run. Group Registration closes on Friday, Sept. 15. There is no late registration for groups.

    1. Group registration cost is $16 for the Walk and $21 for the 5K. The group discount will not apply during half-off week, however everyone in the group can register at the half-off price.
    2. One person in the group will be responsible for packet pick-up and communication should race, walk times or events change. 
    3. Groups with 20 or more registered walkers or runners can have their packets and race shirts delivered to their business. That group’s packets, numbers and shirts will be boxed or bagged and delivered on Wednesday, Sept. 27. It is the group’s responsibility to distribute the packets once they have been dropped off. We can only deliver to businesses in Rome. 

    PACKET PICK-UP: Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host packet pick-up on Thursday, Sept. 28 and Friday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in our offices at 1 Shorter Avenue. ​​ There will also be race-day packet pick up starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

    WALK DETAILS:  The walk consists of portions of a gravel path and paved trail surface within Ridge Ferry Park. The distance is approximately 1.7 miles and will not be timed. Dogs on a leash are allowed during the walk, but walkers must clean up after their pet. 

    5K RUN DETAILS: The run consists of limited portions of gravel path as well as paved trails within Ridge Ferry Park. The course is flat and fast with only one true hill. Due to limited trail width, we ask anyone wanting to use a baby jogger to start at the back of the running pack. While we love our four-legged friends, dogs are not allowed to participate in the 5K race.

    POST-RACE: There will be plenty of Powerade, fruit, and water on the concrete pad in front of the Coca-Cola Stage at Ridge Ferry Park as well as music and lots of FUN!!  There will also be food trucks on hand.

    WATER: There will be one water station on the course. Of course, participants are allowed to bring their own as well.

    5K AWARDS: The top three (3) finishers in each age group below (M&F) will receive awards.  Additionally, the 5K's overall male and female,...AND the overall master's runners (M&F),...AND the overall grandmaster's runners (M&F) will receive awards. The awards ceremony will start at approximately 6:00 p.m.

    • (​There will not be awards for the Health Walk.)

    Age Groups: 8-and-Under, 9-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

    WEATHER and OTHER ISSUES: All attempts will be made for the race and walk to run as scheduled. This is a rain or shine event. If the race has to be postponed for a weather event or other reason we will schedule a make-up day and time and communicate this information through media channels, our social media accounts, our website and via the email address registrants entered on their forms.
