The Capital 10-Miler - a run for the arts

We invite you to be a part of The Capital 10 Miler! The in-person race is Saturday, April 6, 2024. (Race date to be confirmed 11/1/23.) Virtual running is also available! The 14th Annual Capital 10-Miler, a ten-mile race through sections of the Capital Greenbelt, along the Riverfront & over Harrisburg's bridges will take place on Saturday, April 1st. USATF Course Certification #PA15004WB.

"Each year, the race attracts a lot of interest,” reports Mary Lou Harris, founding race director, who is a local marathon runner and regional arts supporter. “600 runners, on average, register to run and we expect more each year.”

​Registrants over the years included runners from several Mid-Atlantic and New England states as well as local and regional participants.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 11:59 pm on SUNDAY, MARCH 31. UNTIL OUR MAXIMUM NUMBER IS REACHED, WALKUP REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE RACE MORNING ON SAT 4/6/24.

T-shirts will not be guaranteed after 3/1/24.

Virtual Runners: You can run the course on your own time between March 30 and April 30, 2024 and receive your shirt, medal, and Capital 10-Miler swag. Best of all, you can still raise money for the arts!

Directions: From I-76, exit Harrisburg E; bear left at I-83 split; follow I-83 S to 2nd St. exit. At 4th light turn left on Market St. (Bridge); right onto City Island. Parking available (no charge). From I-83 N or S, exit onto 2nd Street and follow the same directions. From I-81, Exit at S Front St; travel approx. 3 miles to Market St. Bridge & turn right onto City Island. Walking: from Amtrak Station or downtown hotels, W to Front St., Turn R & proceed to Walnut St., left on bridge to City Island.

Early packet pick-up is Thursday, April 4 from 12-6pm at Fleet Feet Mechanicsburg (6416 Carlisle Pike #700, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050) or Friday, April 5 from 12-6pm at Fleet Feet Harrisburg (4640 High Pointe Blvd Suite A6, Harrisburg, PA 17111).

7:00 - 8:45 a.m. - Packet pickup & Registration
8:15 a.m. - Walkers Start
8:45 a.m. - Participants with disabilities in wheeled vehicles and support runners start
9:00 a.m. - RUNNER START

The Capital 10-Miler is administered by Open Stage, a not-for-profit professional regional theatre in downtown Harrisburg.
