In 2024, the circuit with the Heartland events rotating between communities within Dubois County will continue! In 2024 the race will take place in Jasper, followed by Huntingburg in 2025 and Ferdinand in 2026. Countryside views, charming downtowns, and historic landmarks set the scene for your run through these Southern Indiana riches. A new commemorative medal for the second circuit will be used, to be able to continue to use your medal display. Each medal will again, connect to depict the county's geographic landscape, displaying iconic emblems honoring the area's heritage.
FOR 2024 - THE EVENTS WILL AGAIN TAKE PLACE IN JASPER, INDIANA.
Routes will be announced by April, 2024.
The Kids Fun Run will take place on Friday, Sept. 20th. Registration options include individual sign-ups for $10 per person and also a family rate that covers the cost of up to 4 kids for a cost of $30. T-Shirts are not included in the registration fee, but if you wish to purchase a t-shirt, the cost is $10 per shirt. If you wish, (this is not required) you may participate in the 12 mile challenge, for your child to complete a half marathon over the course of the summer. Participants can print the Running Log below to track 12 miles prior to September 20th. Once participants complete and submit their Log at the registration table on Race Day, they will be entered to win a cool prizes! Click here for the Running Log
Saturday, September 21, 2024 is the date for the half marathon, 5K, and team challenge events. On Saturday, after the race, take in some of the many events throughout Dubois County.
- The Ferdinand Folk Festival features live music from Noon - 9pm in 18th Street Park. This FREE, unique, family, and earth-friendly festival offers a day of live music, art, environment/wellness education and fun for the entire family!
- Pirates on the Patoka, a fun, new event that takes place in the heart of downtown Jasper!
Majority of the proceeds (90%) from Heartland Half Marathon, 5K, and Team Challenge will be split between the Phillip R. Dawkins Heart & Vascular Center (to be utilized for new integrative medicine services provided to patients at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center) and Girls on the Run of Southwest Indiana. The remaining 10% goes into the DC Multisport Endowment for future charitable causes and giving.
