Welcome to the 40th Annual Sunshine Festival July 4th Race!
Generations have enjoyed this fun for the whole family event!The 5k race winds through the beautiful live oak and Spanish moss-lined streets of St. Simons Island at 7:00 AM!

Every participant who finishes the 5k and 1 mile will receive a Finisher Medal!The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will be held immediately following the 5K at 8:00 AM. The 1 Mile Fun Run will start and finish at the same location as the 5k.
Start/Finish Location: St Simons Park / Kings Park, 515 Park Ave, St Simons Island, GA 31522 (Across from Mallery Park)
Starting Line: The starting line will be sorted by expected pace, fastest up front and walkers in the back. This works well since your time starts when you cross the mat. Bathrooms are located in Mallery Park, Village Casino, and porta-potties by the Starting Line.
Fees include a high-quality short-sleeve T-shirt (youth and adult sizes) or Tank Top (adult sizes).
Sports in Motion Photography will be photographing our event this year. All digital images will be FREE! Please look for an email after the event with a direct link to your images or you can go to www.simphotos.com to view photos too.
Only participants registered by June 12th at Midnight are guaranteed a shirt.
Strollers ARE ALLOWED, please be careful and respectful of other runners.
Dogs ARE NOT ALLOWED in the race, this is due to liability and safety issues.
PRE-RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP
Wednesday, July 3rd, 4-7 pm at St. Simons Presbyterian Church Social Hall, 205 Kings Way. From Kings Way, Turn on Delegal St and park behind the Church.
Your friends or family can pick up your packet upon request.

All 5k and 1 Mile participants who complete the course will receive a Finisher Medal!
5k Awards: Overall, Masters (40-49), Grand Masters (50-59), Senior Masters (60+), and top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups - 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
Age Group 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will receive a medal
1 Mile Youth Participant Awards: Youth participants will receive a medal upon completion
Push Rim Participant Award: Riders receive a participant award, and pushers compete in 5k as normalAward for the Best Costume. (1st Place only, must be present at the Awards ceremony)
Award for the Best Team (Largest). (1st Place)
Award for the Fastest Team. (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place) Based on the top 3 fastest on a team, one must be a female. Must have at least 3 people on a team.

Proceeds are used to support healthy living through motion in our community, including several youth organizations, area high school track, cross-country teams, and local projects that enhance walking, running, and cycling. Water refill stations and trails.
PARKING
Parking is a challenge, please carpool, be dropped off, ride a bike, or walk! Otherwise park along Mallory Street, in the village, by the library or lighthouse, just stay away from private residences.
POLICY
We are very sorry, but due to our Insurance Policy, pets and roller blades are not permitted to run in or be used in the race
Strollers are allowed but for safety purposes, must start at the end of the finish line after the runners.
