A really nice race. The course for the first half is beautiful, running up to the Horsetooth reservoir and then along the ridge above Fort Collins for several miles. The second half is less scenic, with several miles on a hard pedestrian path that really pounded my legs, but the finish at New Belgium Brewery is always appreciated. The caveat is, of course, that this is a difficult half, especially early in the season. The first two miles are at 7 and 9% grades, which takes a lot out of you early on - there are also two significant hills later in the course (mile 7 was a real struggle).
Schwag is a nice technical T-shirt and a medal, both of which have the course elevation profile on it (so you can show off the difficulty to your friends). A challenging but fun way to start off the running season and recommended for anyone in the northern Colorado area.
