I am a newer runner, and I was wondering what you should eat or not eat the night before and day of a 10K, half-marathon, or marathon. Right now I am working on 10Ks but any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

hi khmccarth
there is a good book you should buy online i read parts of it all the time and it includes eating during training, the night before races and the day of. i am at work and dont have it with me or i would quote from it.
book is
The Competitive Runner's Handbook: The Bestselling Guide to Running 5ks through Marathons by Bob Glover, Shelly-lynn F. Glover, Shelly-Lynn Florence Glover.
it is the best guide i have found. you can get overnight from barnes and noble for 20 bucks or so.
good luck to you. i have been running for a couple of years and am now going to try longer races--10k and half marathon. i am running in the westport 10k on sunday april 29, and in the run for autism in hamden on sunday may 6. they both look like flat courses and could be fun. tom
